Those are my little friends. I think Tango, Bagdad and Dixit can make some tiny sounds when scared or excited. Dixit escaped from her breeding box on the day she hatched. From there she crawled on the table where the breeding box was, dropped on a chair, then went and hid in one of my archive boxes. When I found her and pinched her between 2 fingers, she made a little sound. Some months ago, as I was working in my flat I heard some tiny sounds coming from one of my reptile tanks. I did not pay a

I fed them all today. They all fed well. Dixit is shedding but has kept her appetite. Bagdad kindly snapped at his mouse. I notice he wipes his mouth with a bit too much insistance after eating, opening his mouth again the plastic of the specially dedicated tube I use to feed them. He rattled when I first took him in my hands to take him back to his tank, but as he is allowed to bite he did not show any more fear and let me take him back to his tank. Tango snapped at her mouse and con
My animals will not be handled today as they are digesting. I changed their water and checked them. When I arrived, around 8 pm, they were all sleeping, but tonic in their hides. When I started cooking, Bagdad went out, and Merveille in his tank. Prelle came out later. Bagdad is still wandering in his tank. Their favourite smell as for herbs up to now in thyme. Today I think the smell of pork is what stimulated them most. Dixit has still not shed but her colours are back.
Moving: Is difficult with reptiles. Finding an accommodation if you rent is a challenge. The tanks are heavy and increase the price of the move. The animals are at risk of catching a respiratory infection during the move. You need to adapt your installations to the new place. I have moved 16 times within 5 years and lived in 5 counties. I have moved 6 times since I have had animals and now plan to stay at least a year at the same address. A herpetophile real estate web site would do some good.
My snakes have passed their mouse. Dixit shed her skin. Bagdad and Dixit were having a ramble accross their tank when I came back home around 10 pm. I handled them and played some classical music. Prelle had a sneeze when I played the Impromptu 2, by Schubert, which is precisely like what Glee's spirit was. Bagdad was curious and lively and went back home when he had enough. Tango smeared abundantly in her tank, then keeping her tail up, quivering. Merveille made an attempt but was rebuked.
Yesterday when I came back home about 10 pm the temperature in the flat had dropped to 15 C°. The temperature in the tanks was 26 C° at the warm side of it, ie about half the tank. Bagdad was in the warm half. My 3 adults were in the cooler side, under their pigeon nest, and when I checked them it turned out the temperature in had remained warm. I switched the - outside - thermostat back on and soon Merveille and Prelle mated. This morning I found Bagdad inside the net that protects the bulbs.
(follow up) Bagdad is slightly weazing. I have raised the temperature at the warm end of his tank to 32 C°. The flat temperature will never drop again that far. He will see the vet next Sat. I am worried about Dixit's litter. I have found some wood shavings that I used for her litter. The packaging says it is suitable for reptiles. It is nowhere said whether it contents any pine wood, which is toxic to snakes.
One of the worse things about snake keeping is the lack of information about them. Literature is scarce and booklets duplicate one another instead of bringing some more information. On-line information is often basic, not controlled, and whether duplicative or contradictory. The best material I have found were a couple of on-line articles by an Australian herpetologist from the university. The public ignorance is shocking. I do not mention those who think snakes are devils, they are in need of
Dixit had a new tank yesterday. I had it all fitted, with the bulb and a good protection, + some aspen, climbing stands for all the animals, drinking bowls, a thermostat, heat bulb protections and spare heat bulbs for all the animals for 270 GBP. Shirley Aquatics. Given the amount of things I have bought I think this is nicely priced. All the animals had a ramble in their tanks yesterday. Clever Bagdad climbed again on his log during the night, but he now stays underneath the protection net.
Tango knows she is being handled Saturdays and Sundays morning. She went out of her hide and rambled all day. Merveille joined Prelle in her hide, where she is shedding. At the end of the day the smell of cooking veg and herbs took him out of the hide. He mated with Tango then came back with Prelle. Bagdad is shedding. Dixit was active all night and did not move all day. I am sick so could not handle them, save Tango at the end of the day. She goes toward the radio if I do not play music.
Sourced some help to securize the tanks. At some point I crawled into a tank, having put the animals in their travel willow suitcase, tried to put some hooks into the tank's ceiling and burst out crying. My cold has not gone yet so I only changed their water today.
Somebody came to help with the tanks. It is now all secure, safe a smaller, 93 cm tank, where I have just put Dixit because she seems to be scared in her new larger tank. She does not pass any pooh any more. I have gently bathed her in some luke warm water, not even warm. Merveille is on his own in the large tank, the other ones occupy the 6ft2 tanks where they can climb without risk. Bagdad, Tango, Prelle are excellent climbers. Dixit plays and explores.
Merveille does everything he sees the females do. They imitate one another and learn from one another. My animals currently are reluctant to drink. They had such a sensuous relationship to their water and drank a lot with long draws. Since Glee's death they seem to be scared of drinking. I have definitively stopped the Reptoboost. I have also had a lock added on the door by a professional. Prelle and Bagdad have shed. Bagdad ate with pre-ecdysis.

I have also had a lock added on the door by a professional. Prelle and Bagdad have shed. Bagdad ate with pre-ecdysis. Prelle is very gravid.
All the tanks are now securized. Tomorrow I change the litter. I still cannot handle my animals as I am still coughing. Bagdad and Prelle are very active. Merveille is shedding. Tango has not moved from her hide since this morning, in fact probably since yesterday, which is worrying. Dixit still has not passed any pooh. I will handle them with a scarf on the lower part of my face tomorrow to keep them active and confident. Dixit will have a luke warm bath tomorrow as well.
Changed the two large tanks. The 2 other ones were cleaned not long ago. I will then clean them all again on the last week of January. They all go boarding over the Xmas period. Paid 29.99 GBP for an extralarge bag of aspen at Shirley Aquatics. I think it is reasonable. Snake bedding is expensive. It costs the same on line with the delivery. I re-use the used bedding to protect my bulbs from the frost. Merveille and Dixit are shedding.
Fed them yesterday. Merveille and Dixit ate with pre-ecdysis. Bagdad had a chick form which I had chopped off the beak, the paws, the wings and the legs to avoid any injuries. Tango and Prelle declined food. Tango had a little rat last week and is not hungry, Prelle might be close to delivery. She is overactive. I have prepared them two nests with wet vermiculite. Prelle and Bagdad will go to the vet for a check up after Christmas and Prelle's delivery.
Merveille and his daughter Dixit shed their skin yesterday. I could find only the half of Dixit's skin, the head and top of the body. I could not find any trace of her pooh either. The whole body has retrieved its brilliant colors though. Merveille pooed a lot, with much white. Bagdad released something yellow and white. The chick has not come through yet. Bagdad and Dixit will have a luke warm bath tomorrow. Today they all were handled, whith music. Dixit yawns and is more active.
